The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast strong dusty winds, thunderstorms and light rainfall in parts of Sindh and Balochistan, as hot and dry weather continues to grip most areas of the country.
Temperature Records
According to the PMD, temperatures remained significantly high across Pakistan on Monday, with several cities recording mercury levels above 40 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature of 47°C was recorded in Sibi, while Dadu witnessed 45°C. Bahawalpur recorded 42°C, Multan 41°C and Hyderabad 40°C. Temperatures reached 38°C in Lahore and Faisalabad, 37°C in Islamabad and Peshawar, and 35°C in Karachi and Quetta.
Advisory for Citizens
The weather department advised citizens to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight and take precautionary measures, including staying hydrated, during the ongoing heatwave conditions.
Rainfall in Northern Areas
The PMD also forecast intermittent rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjoining mountainous regions.
Officials said the weather system could provide temporary relief from the prevailing heat in some areas, while residents have been urged to remain cautious during dust storms and thunderstorms.
