Police in Dera Ghazi Khan have thwarted a major drug smuggling attempt, arresting two suspects and recovering 43 kilogrammes of narcotics in two separate operations. The crackdown, part of an ongoing drive against drug traffickers, targeted routes from Balochistan into Punjab.
Operations and Seizures
The operations were conducted by Sakhi Sarwar police on the directives of Dera Ghazi Khan District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Sadiq Baloch. In the first operation, police recovered 3 kilogrammes of crystal meth (ice) from one suspect. In the second, they seized 40 kilogrammes of hashish from another individual.
Legal Proceedings and Investigation
Separate cases have been registered against the two arrested suspects. Investigations are underway to identify and trace the wider drug trafficking network, including facilitators and other individuals involved in the smuggling chain. DPO Baloch commended the police team for their vigilance and successful operations.
