Punjab Higher Education to Operate Under PPP Model

The Punjab government has decided to operate higher education institutions under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. A 13-member committee headed by the Punjab Finance Minister has been constituted to oversee the commercial, legal and financial requirements of the new system.

New System Under PPP Act 2025

According to sources, all higher education institutions currently operating under the Punjab government across the province will be run under the Public-Private Partnership Act 2025 to further improve educational standards. In this regard, a 13-member committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Punjab finance minister to supervise the implementation of the new system in accordance with its commercial, legal and financial requirements.

Committee Members

Members of the committee include the minister for law and parliamentary affairs, minister for higher education, chairman P&D Board, senior member board of revenue, secretary higher education department, secretary finance department, secretary school education department, secretary law and parliamentary affairs department, Punjab Public-Private Partnership Authority CIO, PPRA managing director, Punjab Higher Education Commission chairperson and chief operating officer.
