Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam has emerged as the top-performing university in Sindh under the Google Career Certificates programme after successfully completing 1,000 certifications and achieving a 100 percent completion rate. According to a university press release, the programme was implemented across 30 public sector universities in Sindh to equip students with market-oriented digital skills. SAU secured the highest position in the province by accomplishing all assigned targets, while NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi also recorded a 100 percent completion rate.
Vice Chancellor Praises Team Effort
SAU Vice Chancellor Engr Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal felicitated the university’s Information Technology team on the achievement and appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders involved in the initiative. Dr Siyal said that the achievement reflected the collective efforts of the university administration, faculty members, staff and students. He particularly acknowledged the contribution of Dr Arif Hussain Magsi, focal person for the Google Career Certificates programme, for successfully leading the initiative.

“Completing more than 1,000 certifications within a short period demonstrates the university’s commitment to academic excellence and preparing graduates to meet the evolving demands of the modern workforce,” he said. The VC added that the accomplishment had set a benchmark for higher education institutions in Sindh and would significantly contribute to promoting digital literacy and advanced skills among students across the province.
Enhancing Employability Through Digital Skills
The university spokesperson said that SAU was actively working to equip students with contemporary digital and professional competencies to enhance their employability in an increasingly technology-driven job market. The Google Career Certificates programme is designed to provide students with practical, job-ready skills in fields such as IT support, data analytics, project management, and user experience design.
