Two wanted criminals were killed in a police encounter during an operation in Budhni Goth, police said on Sunday. According to SSP Samiullah Soomro, the suspects, identified as Mohammad Peeral and Sameer alias Shahmir, were killed in an exchange of fire with the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the CIA. The SSP said both men were wanted in multiple cases involving murder, robbery and arms snatching and had been declared proclaimed offenders.
Recovered Items Linked to Crimes
Police recovered a snatched 9mm pistol, a 30-bore pistol and a mobile phone from their possession. According to investigators, the recovered mobile phone belonged to Yasmeen, a woman who was allegedly murdered during a robbery in Karachi's Soldier Bazaar area on May 7. The recovered 9mm pistol was also linked to a robbery case registered at Brigade police station.
Background of the Slain Suspects
Police said the slain suspects were involved in several criminal cases, including murder, robbery and offences under the Sindh Arms Act. Both had been declared proclaimed offenders by courts.
