FIA Detains Two Pakistanis Deported from Tunisia

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration detained two Pakistani nationals at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore on Sunday after they were deported from Tunisia for attempting to reach Italy through an illegal route.

Deportees Identified and Taken into Custody

According to an FIA spokesperson, the deportees, identified as Muhammad Anas and Muhammad Arsalan, arrived in Lahore on emergency passports aboard flight SV734. They were taken into custody by FIA Immigration upon arrival.

During preliminary interrogation, the two men disclosed that they had been residing in Saudi Arabia before traveling to Libya. They later attempted to enter Italy illegally by boat. However, Tunisian authorities arrested them during the illegal journey and deported them to Pakistan.

Investigation and Legal Action

The FIA transferred both suspects to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Lahore for further investigation and legal action. The agency is probing the human trafficking network that facilitated their attempted illegal migration.
