Deputy Commissioner Conducts Surprise Inspection

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, made a surprise visit to the facility, reviewed operations and gathered direct feedback from citizens using various government services. During the inspection, the deputy commissioner examined different sections of the Citizen Facilitation Centre and assessed the quality and speed of service delivery. He individually met visitors and sought their views on the facilities available at the centre.

Performance Data Revealed

Officials briefed the deputy commissioner on the centre’s recent performance, stating that a range of public services are now delivered through a single platform to reduce delays and improve accessibility for residents. According to the briefing, the centre issued 81 international driving permits in the last 24 hours. In the same period, 227 citizens received domicile certificates, while 19 police character certificates were also processed and issued. The centre additionally issued 45 Marriage Registration Certificates (MRCs) and seven birth certificates. Authorities also approved and issued two no-objection certificates (NOCs) for petrol pumps during the reporting period.

DC Emphasizes Efficiency and Technology

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Memon stated that the administration is focused on ensuring that citizens receive government services efficiently and without unnecessary delays. He noted that the facility operates under a real-time monitoring system to track performance and maintain service standards. During the inspection, he directed officials to further reduce processing times wherever possible so that applicants can receive services more quickly. He emphasized that public convenience remains a priority for the district administration. Memon said the administration is introducing and utilizing modern technology to improve service delivery and simplify procedures for residents. The use of digital systems, he added, is helping departments process applications more efficiently and maintain transparency in operations.

Feedback Mechanism Established

To strengthen communication with visitors, the centre has established a dedicated feedback window where citizens can share their experiences, suggestions and complaints. Officials said the feedback mechanism is being used to identify areas requiring improvement and to ensure that public concerns are addressed promptly.
