In Gujar Khan, police arrested a man accused of confining his real brother in chains inside a cattle pen for three months, allegedly to grab his property. The arrest followed a tip-off from neighbors, leading to a rescue operation by the police.
Police Action Based on Tip-Off
District Police Officer Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq, SSP, stated that he received information from neighbors that in Sagri village, under Mangla Cantt police station, a man named Shabir had confined and chained his brother in a cattle pen. Acting on the complaint, a police party was dispatched to the premises, where they found the victim chained and promptly released him. The accused was arrested at the scene.
“Upon receiving the information, the police immediately reached the location, rescued the victim, and arrested the suspect. The accused is alleged to have kept his brother chained and wrongfully confined. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. The suspect will be presented before the court with the available evidence in accordance with the law,” said the DPO.
Victim and Legal Proceedings
According to Mangla police station, the victim has been identified as Ghulam Saqlain. An FIR under section 344 PPC (wrongful confinement for three months) has been lodged against his brother, Shabir Ahmed. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are gathering evidence to build the case.
