Pakistan Passport Offices Go Cashless: Minister Mohsin Naqvi Announces
Passport Offices Cashless: Mohsin Naqvi

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Wednesday that all passport offices across Pakistan have transitioned to cashless transactions, a move aimed at streamlining services and improving transparency. In a post on X, Naqvi stated: "Starting today, cashless transactions are operational at all passport offices across Pakistan. Applicants no longer need to stand in long queues or wait for hours to make payments. This important reform was initiated on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and our team has successfully delivered it."

End of Long Queues

The reform eliminates the need for applicants to carry cash and wait in lengthy lines to pay fees. According to Naqvi, the cashless system will expedite services across all passport offices, reducing processing times and enhancing the overall applicant experience. The initiative aligns with the government's broader digitalization efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Transparency and Efficiency

Naqvi emphasized that the cashless system ensures transparency by reducing the potential for corruption and manual errors. All payments will be processed electronically, providing a clear audit trail. The move is expected to benefit millions of Pakistanis who apply for passports annually, making the process more convenient and efficient.
