JARANWALA: A head constable of the Punjab Patrolling Police has been booked for allegedly traveling abroad multiple times on a private passport without obtaining departmental permission or the required No Objection Certificate (NOC). Police officials confirmed that Head Constable Asghar Ali, posted in Jaranwala, was found absent from duty, prompting an inquiry that uncovered his unauthorized foreign trips.
Details of the Violation
According to police sources, the inquiry revealed that Asghar Ali had made several trips outside the country without seeking official approval from his superiors. This constitutes a direct violation of government and police regulations, which mandate that all personnel must obtain prior permission and an NOC before using a private passport for international travel. The department considers such actions a breach of discipline and security protocols.
Legal Action Taken
Following orders from Patrolling SSP Mirza Anjum Kamal, the Kotwali police registered a case against the head constable. The case has been filed under Section 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), which deals with cheating and dishonesty, and Article 155-C of the Police Order 2002, which pertains to misconduct by police personnel. Authorities have launched efforts to arrest the suspect, who remains at large.
SSP Kamal stated, "Such actions undermine the integrity of the police force. We will ensure strict action is taken against anyone who violates departmental rules." The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the case progresses.
