KHANGARH - The public is already crushed under the burden of inflation, and the upcoming budget should be truly people-friendly, said former Provincial Revenue Minister Nawabzada Mansoor Ahmad Khan. He stated that unnecessary privileges and benefits enjoyed by the elite should be abolished, and national resources should be directed toward ordinary Pakistanis. Direct subsidies should be provided on electricity, gas, petrol, and diesel.
Economic Crisis and Government Responsibility
Speaking to journalists, Nawabzada Mansoor Ahmad Khan said that the nation is facing the worst inflation in its history, and it is the government's fundamental responsibility to help people overcome this economic crisis. He demanded that the upcoming budget be genuinely public-friendly rather than based on political figures and claims, so that citizens suffering from inflation, unemployment, and growing economic hardships can receive relief.
Rejecting New Taxes
He added that people are already struggling under the weight of rising prices, and imposing new taxes or additional financial burdens on them would be unacceptable. He emphasized that the government should eliminate unnecessary privileges and official perks granted to the elite and redirect national resources from influential groups toward ordinary citizens.
General Polls in AJK
He further said that high electricity bills and expensive diesel, petrol, and gas have severely reduced people's purchasing power. Therefore, the government should provide direct subsidies in sectors related to basic necessities to offer immediate relief to the common man. According to Nawabzada Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Pakistan is a country rich in natural resources, but the benefits of these resources are not reaching ordinary citizens.
Call for Transparent Strategy
If the government adopts a transparent strategy and utilizes national resources for public welfare, it can not only reduce economic difficulties but also put the country on the path of development and prosperity. He urged the government to give top priority to public welfare in the upcoming budget, take practical measures to control inflation and provide relief to the people, and establish an economic system whose benefits reach every Pakistani.
