Pakistan Raises Petrol and Diesel Prices by Over Rs13

The federal government on Friday raised petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices by Rs13.18 and Rs13.80 per litre respectively for the upcoming week, citing volatility in global oil markets following heightened tensions between the United States and Iran.

New Fuel Prices Announced

According to a press release from the Petroleum Division, petrol will now cost Rs310.71 per litre, while HSD is set at Rs323.30 per litre. The revised rates took effect from midnight on Friday.

Global Market Impact

The price hike reflects ongoing instability in international crude markets, driven by recent geopolitical developments. The US-Iran escalation has contributed to fluctuating oil prices, prompting the government to adjust domestic rates accordingly.
