FIA Busts Forgery Network in Faisalabad, Arrests Suspects

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has successfully dismantled an organized forgery network in Faisalabad, arresting several suspects involved in the production of fraudulent route permits and fitness certificates. The operation was conducted under the directives of FIA Faisalabad Zone Director Saqib Sultan and supervised by Deputy Director Tariq Mahmood.

Investigation Initiated Following Complaint

The investigation was launched after a complaint was filed by the Regional Transport Authority Faisalabad. During the inquiry, the Vehicle Registration and Permit Record (VRPR) System revealed that the route permit and fitness certificate for a vehicle operating on Route No. RC-613 had been forged and unlawfully issued.

Raid and Arrests

Following the investigation, FIA Police Station SHO Ajmal Hussain, along with his team, conducted a raid at a shop in Kachahry Bazaar, Faisalabad, leading to the arrest of multiple suspects. During the raid, the FIA recovered mobile phones and laptops containing digital records and software allegedly used for forgery. The seized data included copies of Computerized National Identity Cards, driving licenses, route permits, fitness certificates, and other documents.

Legal Action

A case has been registered against the accused at the FIA Composite Circle Faisalabad. The suspects are currently in custody and further investigations are underway.

Muharram Arrangements Reviewed

In a separate development, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir to review necessary arrangements on the routes of Muharram-ul-Haram processions. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Anwar Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Mudassar Mumtaz, Assistant Commissioners, and officers from the Municipal Corporation, District Council, WASA, the Deputy Director Development Office, and other relevant departments.

Deputy Commissioner Directives

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure timely completion of arrangements on all Muharram procession routes. He instructed that the best possible cleanliness and sanitation arrangements be ensured at Dhobi Ghat Ground as well as at all procession and Majalis venues. Patchwork and road repair work along the procession routes must be completed promptly. He emphasized that no manhole should remain uncovered at any location and that all necessary safety measures must be fully implemented. The DC also issued instructions to secure overhead wires passing through the procession routes and directed that all streetlights and other lighting facilities remain fully functional.
