KARACHI: Two women sustained injuries in a gas cylinder explosion that occurred in the Sector 5 area of New Karachi on Wednesday, as reported by rescue sources quoted on television channels.
Details of the Incident
According to initial reports, the blast took place inside a house where a gas cylinder was installed. The cause of the explosion is not yet known, and further investigation is underway.
Upon receiving information about the incident, rescue teams rushed to the scene and provided immediate medical assistance. The injured women were stabilized at the site before being shifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Response and Investigation
Rescue officials confirmed that both women are in stable condition and receiving medical care. Police and bomb disposal squads have also visited the location to gather evidence and determine the cause of the blast.
The Sindh Assembly’s Standing Committee on Home Affairs is scheduled to meet on June 4 to discuss the incident and review safety measures regarding gas cylinder usage in residential areas.
Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution while handling gas cylinders and to report any suspected leaks or faults to the relevant departments immediately.
