Poets and writers from across the region have come together to demand the establishment of an institution named after the renowned literary figure Gul Hassan Kalmati. The call was made during a literary gathering held in Karachi, where participants highlighted Kalmati's immense contributions to Sindhi literature and culture.

Noted poet and activist, Dr. Saeed Ahmed, stated, "Gul Hassan Kalmati's poetry and prose reflect the struggles and aspirations of the common man. It is our duty to ensure his legacy is preserved for future generations."
Government Response
Provincial Minister for Culture, Ms. Nasreen Jalil, who was present at the event, assured the audience that the government would consider the demand seriously. "We recognize the importance of Kalmati's contributions and will work towards establishing an institution that honors his memory," she said.
The literary community plans to submit a formal memorandum to the Chief Minister of Sindh, urging immediate action on their demands.
