Over 1.8 Million Pilgrims Perform Wuqoof-e-Arafat
More than 1.8 million faithful performed the Rukn-e-Azam of Hajj, Wuqoof-e-Arafat, in Maidan-i-Arafat today. The Imam of Masjid-e-Nabawi, Sheikh Ali Al-Hudhaify, delivered the Hajj sermon at Masjid-e-Nimrah from the plains of Arafat in Makkah, urging Muslims to forge unity among themselves.
Key Messages from the Sermon
Sheikh Al-Hudhaify stressed the need to fear Allah and pursue piety. He reminded believers that Islam unites hearts beyond borders, languages, and colors. Describing Hajj as a living manifestation of one Ummah standing together before Allah, he stated that true honor lies in piety, sincerity, and Tawheed. The Imam prayed that Allah Almighty may unite the hearts of Muslims upon truth, accept the Hajj of the pilgrims, and return them safely to their homes. He also prayed for the peace, prosperity, and unity of the Muslim Ummah.
Commendation for Saudi Leadership
Concluding the sermon, the Imam commended the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for facilitating the pilgrims.
Hajj Rituals Continue
Later, the Hujjaj offered Zuhr and Asr prayers together. They will remain in Arafat, spending the entire day in supplication and praying for the welfare of the Muslim Ummah. After the Maghrib call to prayer, they will proceed to Muzdalifah, where they will offer Maghrib and Isha prayers together and spend the night under the open sky. They will also collect pebbles from Muzdalifah for the stoning of the devil the following morning. After offering Fajr prayer at Muzdalifah, they will depart for Mina to perform the remaining Hajj rituals.
