The literary world of Pakistan, particularly the Siraiki-speaking region, is in mourning following the death of the celebrated poet, Amanullah Arshad. He passed away after battling a prolonged illness, as confirmed by his family.

A Life Dedicated to Poetry and Faith

Amanullah Arshad was born in 1971 in Dera Dost Muhammad Khai, Khair Shah (Zahir Pir), Tehsil Khanpur, District Rahim Yar Khan. He rose to become one of the most distinctive poetic voices from the Siraiki belt. His work was deeply influenced by his spiritual mentor, the noted Sufi poet Faiz Muhammad Dilchasp, which infused his poetry with a profound sense of mysticism and depth.

His verses were known for powerfully echoing the sorrows of the land and the struggles of its people. However, the core of his identity and work remained an unwavering devotion to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This devotion was most prominently expressed through his Naatia poetry.
