HYDERABAD: Bazm-e-Rooh Rihan, in its weekly series of literary sessions, hosted an event to commemorate the 6th death anniversary of Atta Muhammad Bhanbhri, a renowned writer, researcher, and translator.
Presiding Over the Meeting
Presiding over the meeting, Professor Syed Zwar Naqvi remarked that the historical and research work of Atta Muhammad Bhanbhro is a treasure of literature. He described Bhanbhro as a storyteller at heart, who wrote comic stories and was a selfless character.
Secretary General's Remarks
Wahid Kandhro, Secretary General of Bazm-e-Rooh Rehan, noted that Atta Muhammad Bhanbhro published the magazine Hoshoo in 1967, which was subsequently banned. Bhanbhro also began practicing law alongside Shaikh Ayaz before focusing on translation, translating nearly 100 books.
Tributes and Presentations
During the session, Wahid Kandhro presented a short biographical sketch of Atta Muhammad Bhanbhro, while Darya Khan Pirzado read an essay. Saleh Katiyar, a central office bearer of Bazm Rooh Rehan, stated that Bhanbhro wrote a book to save the new generation, adding that Sindh will always remember this great man.
Talib Bhanbhro shared that Atta Muhammad Bhanbhro considered the pen as his friend. When he visited doctors for treatment, he told them, "My friend has forgotten the pen, and I cannot write." Writer Ghulam Qadir Burdi described Bhanbhro as a true patriotic writer who always spoke the truth through his pen.
Other attendees included Niaz Masroor Badawi, Jalil Ahmed, Ali Hasnain, and Yaqub Dahri.
