The Islamabad College for Girls (ICG) in F-6/2, under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), has launched a two-week Summer Fiesta 2026 designed to equip students with technological, creative, and vocational skills through a variety of summer courses and workshops. The initiative aims to provide a platform for students to enhance their creative abilities via hands-on learning experiences.
Official Endorsement and Vision
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Nadeem Mehboob praised the program, stating that it offers students a valuable opportunity to engage in practical workshops and summer courses. He emphasized that the fiesta encourages learning beyond traditional classrooms by blending education with fun and creativity. “Through colourful activities, interactive sessions and hands-on experiences, students can explore new talents, build confidence and enhance their abilities. We wish all participants a rewarding and enjoyable Summer Fiesta 2026,” he added.
Educational Foundation and Student Development
Director General of FDE Javed Iqbal Mirza highlighted the role of education in personal and national development. He noted that education empowers young people with knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to face future challenges. “Activities such as workshops and skill-based courses play an important role in nurturing creativity, innovation, teamwork and leadership qualities,” he said. Mirza encouraged students to discover their interests and prepare for a rapidly changing world, adding, “Investing in education is investing in a brighter future. Initiatives like Summer Fiesta provide a positive learning environment where students can learn, grow and become responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to society and the progress of the country.”
Course Offerings and Demonstrations
The Summer Fiesta features a diverse range of courses, including Coding and Robotics, Digital Creativity, Creative Arts, Coding with Scratch, Fashion Couture, Creative Embellishment, Design Lab, Communication Skills, Professional Culinary Arts Training, Pottery, Fabric Painting, Art and Design Workshop, and Taekwondo. During the launch, students presented a vibrant medley of regional songs and an impressive Taekwondo demonstration. Guests, including senior education ministry officials, diplomats, educationists, and parents, toured classrooms and activity stalls, appreciating the creativity, talent, and enthusiasm of the participants.
