In a significant move to promote fiscal responsibility among the youth, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) recently conducted an extensive tax awareness session at a prominent university in the capital.
FBR Leadership Drives Educational Outreach
The initiative was launched on the direct instructions of FBR Chairman Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial and Member Taxpayers’ Services Wing Ms. Tehmina Aamer. The event was executed by the FBR's Taxpayers' Services Wing (TPS) at the Gulberg Green Campus of Riphah International University in Islamabad.
Engaging Dialogue on Tax Compliance
A dedicated FBR delegation, led by Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz, Secretary (Tax Education & Facilitation), and including Mr. Abdul Rehman, Second Secretary (Tax Facilitation), spearheaded the session. Mr. Mumtaz opened the proceedings with an insightful overview of the FBR's core functions and its various taxpayer facilitation initiatives. He firmly stressed that tax compliance is a fundamental cornerstone for Pakistan's national development.
Following this, Mr. Abdul Rehman took the stage to deliver a detailed presentation focused on tax awareness. He elaborated on the key services offered by the FBR, demonstrated various digital facilitation tools available to citizens, and clarified the rights and responsibilities of every taxpayer.
University Embraces Civic Initiative
The university was represented by Ms. Sarwat Jamila, Director Campus, and Dr. Tahira Nazir, Head of Department (Faculty of Computing), who attended alongside numerous faculty members and students from diverse academic disciplines.
The session generated an enthusiastic response from the audience. Both students and faculty members actively participated in a vibrant and engaging question-and-answer segment. Participants widely praised the FBR for this proactive approach to engaging with academic institutions.
