KU VC Inaugurates New Modern Girls' Hostel

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi, Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, officially inaugurated the newly constructed girls' hostel, which is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, on Thursday. During the ceremony, he highlighted that establishing a large, modern girls' hostel in major universities, particularly in an institution like the University of Karachi, is a pressing need of the time.

Dr Iraqi emphasized that students come not only from Karachi but also from various parts of the country to pursue higher education. For them, quality residential facilities are nothing short of a blessing. He noted that the University of Karachi is continuously striving to provide the best academic and residential facilities to its students.

The Vice Chancellor described the timely completion of the hostel as an exemplary result of teamwork, involving the collective efforts of relevant departments and officials. He expressed hope that the establishment of this modern hostel will provide safe, high-quality, and conducive residential facilities to female students from Karachi and across Pakistan, enabling them to focus more effectively on their academic pursuits.

Future Plans for Rehabilitation Center

Dr Iraqi also revealed that a PC-1 proposal is being prepared to convert the Aiwan-e-Liaquat old girls' hostel into a rehabilitation center. He noted that this initiative will play a vital role in promoting health and rehabilitation facilities within the university.

KU and OMC Sign MoU

In a related development, the University of Karachi and OMC signed a Memorandum of Understanding to renovate the Research Facility Centre, further enhancing the university's research capabilities.
