Saudi Arabia's Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, recently conducted extensive field tours of pilgrim camps in Mina, encompassing both international and domestic pilgrims. These visits are part of the ministry's direct oversight of Hajj preparations for the upcoming season.
Review of Pilgrim Facilities and Services
During the tours, Al-Rabiah inspected the readiness of accommodation facilities and a range of operational services, including catering, cleaning, and maintenance. He also reviewed the arrangements for receiving pilgrims and facilitating their movement within the holy sites, all aimed at ensuring a smooth and comfortable Hajj experience. The minister engaged with workers and field supervisors, receiving briefings on operational plans and coordination among relevant entities. He emphasized the importance of field readiness, efficiency, and integration across the entire Hajj system to deliver high-quality services to pilgrims.
Operational Drill and International Meetings
Al-Rabiah also attended an operational drill at the sacrificial project in Mina, where he reviewed readiness procedures to enhance efficiency and preparedness for the season, according to the Saudi Press Agency. In addition, he visited the Indonesian mission headquarters and met with Indonesia's Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf. Similarly, he visited the Malaysian mission headquarters and held talks with Malaysia's Minister of Religious Affairs, Zulkifli bin Hasan.
Separate meetings were conducted with the ministers of religious affairs of Bangladesh and Tunisia, the chairman of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, and the head of the Kuwait Pilgrims Affairs Office. These discussions focused on the condition of pilgrims from each mission, assessed service readiness, and addressed operational challenges. The goal was to expedite solutions and strengthen coordination to ensure that pilgrims can perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind.
The field tours are part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to monitor services in the holy sites and ensure full operational readiness, providing the highest standards of care for all pilgrims.
