The School Education Department of Punjab has introduced a new monitoring system for primary sections operating in high and higher secondary schools across the province. According to directives from the Education Department, Assistant Education Officers (AEOs) have been assigned the additional responsibility of monitoring these primary sections within their respective centers.
New Monitoring System Details
Under the updated system, a monitoring option for primary sections has been enabled in the monthly monitoring app. This allows AEOs to submit their monitoring reports online, streamlining the process and ensuring timely data collection. The Director General of Monitoring has ordered strict compliance with the new instructions across all districts, while Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) have been directed to implement the policy immediately.
The Punjab Education Department has issued a formal letter to enforce these orders. Officials state that the new system will facilitate better oversight of primary section performance, student attendance, teaching methodologies, and overall educational quality. The move is expected to enhance accountability and improve learning outcomes in primary education.
In a related development, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has referred financial irregularities amounting to Rs1.1 billion to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for further investigation. The Punjab Assembly session has been called for June 8 to discuss various matters.
