Exploring Lesser-Known Aspects of Ali's Life

Watkins said the series aims to explore lesser-known parts of Ali's story. "It's a show that's designed to show you all the stuff that wasn't in documentaries and isn't available in terms of watching old fights and old interviews," he said. He added that the first season begins with Ali's 1960 Olympic gold medal victory and concludes with his first heavyweight title win in 1964, focusing on the coming-of-age journey of the young Cassius Clay before he became one of boxing's most influential figures.
