Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's son Knox has reportedly dropped “Pitt” from his surname on his high school diploma, becoming the latest of the former couple's children to distance himself from his father's name. According to Page Six, the 17-year-old graduated from Fusion Academy in Los Angeles earlier this month using the name “Knox Jolie” on his diploma.
Graduation and Family Attendance
The move comes just weeks before his 18th birthday on July 12, 2026. Knox celebrated the milestone with his mother Angelina Jolie, along with siblings Pax, Zahara and his twin sister Vivienne. Brad Pitt was not reported to be in attendance.
Siblings' Similar Actions
The decision follows similar actions taken by several of Knox's siblings amid the family's long-running estrangement from Pitt. Shiloh successfully removed “Pitt” from her surname after turning 18, while Vivienne has used “Vivienne Jolie” professionally. Recent reports have also indicated that Zahara and Maddox have moved away from using their father's surname.
Knox's Speech and Muay Thai Bout
During the graduation ceremony, Knox reportedly delivered a speech in which he excitedly referenced an upcoming Muay Thai fight, drawing cheers from the audience. Days later, he competed in and won a bout at a local event, continuing his growing involvement in the sport.
Ongoing Fallout from Pitt-Jolie Split
Knox's decision adds another chapter to the ongoing fallout from Pitt and Jolie's highly publicised split. Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, and the former couple finalised their divorce in December 2024 after more than eight years of legal proceedings and custody disputes. While neither Knox nor his parents have publicly commented on the diploma name change, it mirrors a broader pattern among the Jolie-Pitt children, many of whom have chosen to identify more closely with their mother's surname in recent years.
