Oliver Tree’s girlfriend, Fiona Chernavskaya, has shared an emotional tribute to the musician following his death in a helicopter crash in Brazil. Tree, who rose to international fame with his 2022 hit song “Miss You”, was among six people killed when a helicopter crashed in Rio de Janeiro on June 14. He was 32 years old.
Identification and Release
According to Brazilian newspaper O Globo, Tree was the final victim to be formally identified and released to his family. Authorities reportedly used dental records to confirm his identity.
Instagram Tribute
On June 17, Chernavskaya posted a series of photographs on Instagram celebrating her relationship with the singer. In her message, she described Tree as her best friend and reflected on the experiences they shared together. “To my best friend. We traveled to 43 countries, and all seven continents together. The magic, inspiration and joy you brought to my life and others will never be forgotten or replaced,” she wrote. She also revealed a personal memory from their relationship, recalling that Tree would tell her during disagreements that if things failed in one lifetime, he would find her in the next.
Request for Privacy
Following the initial tribute, Chernavskaya issued a second statement through Instagram Stories after seeing speculation surrounding Tree’s personal life. She thanked supporters for their messages and acknowledged that many people had been affected by the musician’s passing. However, she also appealed for privacy during the difficult period. Chernavskaya stated that she and Tree had kept their relationship private and intimate. She further addressed rumours circulating online, saying that they had been in a monogamous relationship and asking people to avoid spreading gossip while she mourned the loss of her partner.

The crash also claimed the lives of passengers Lucas Vignale, Gaspar Prim and Lucas Brito Chaves, as well as pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac. Brazilian authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident and have not yet announced a cause.
