Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam has revealed that he is battling a serious nerve-related condition affecting his neck and throat, but says he remains committed to his upcoming live performances despite ongoing treatment. The acclaimed vocalist shared the update in an Instagram post featuring a video in which he spoke about his health struggles. Appearing with a bandage around his neck, Nigam said he had spent the past week undergoing extensive medical examinations and treatment.
Health Struggles and Treatment
“My nerves are pinched. For a week, I’ve been at the hospital doing MRIs and CT scans, while also going through physiotherapy, which has been very painful,” he said. Nigam added that he is taking prescribed medication as part of his recovery and is still relying on painkillers. “I am still taking painkillers, which is why my throat feels very heavy,” he said.
Commitment to Performances
Despite the condition, the singer said he was preparing to return to the stage after a brief recovery period. “On top of that, I am performing after one month and 10–12 days,” he said, referring to his upcoming appearances. The singer emphasised that he intends to honour his professional commitments while continuing treatment.
Resuming Performances
Shortly after sharing the health update, Nigam posted videos and photos from a live performance alongside Salim Merchant in Dubai, indicating that he has already resumed performing while managing his condition. The update comes amid a busy period for the singer professionally.
Revolution Tour Success
Nigam also announced that his upcoming 'Revolution Tour' concert in Sydney, scheduled for October, has sold out. According to the singer, the event reached full capacity within 48 hours of tickets going on sale, setting a new record for the tour.
