KARACHI: The Sarjani Town investigation police have apprehended Shahryar Butt, the husband named in a case concerning the alleged assault and subsequent death of his 18-year-old wife, Misbah. According to law enforcement officials, Misbah died at her residence in Saif-ul-Mari Goth, Sarjani Town, on the night of June 9, after reportedly suffering injuries from an assault by her husband on June 7.
Murder Case Registered
A murder case was filed under relevant homicide charges based on a complaint from Misbah's mother, who held her son-in-law responsible for her daughter's death. SSP Investigation West, Dania Shah, and Sarjani Town investigation in-charge Riyaz Ahmed confirmed that the suspect was arrested using advanced technology.
Physical Abuse Allegations
Police stated that Shahryar Butt is accused of subjecting his wife to physical abuse. Dania Shah announced that authorities have decided to conduct a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Permission for exhumation will be sought from the court, as the family had initially declined a post-mortem after Misbah's death.
