Heavy rains, flash floods and strong winds claimed three lives and injured 16 others in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). The PDMA said the victims included two children and a woman, while those injured comprised five men and 11 children.
Damage and Relief Efforts
Officials said the severe weather also damaged 34 houses in several districts, including Khyber, Lower Dir, Mardan, Shangla, Bajaur and Lower Chitral. Following the incidents, the PDMA directed the concerned district administrations to immediately provide relief items to the affected families and ensure that all possible assistance is extended to the victims.
Separate Boat Tragedy in Swat
Meanwhile, a separate boating accident in Swat turned tragic after a boat carrying members of the same family capsized at Saifullah Lake on the Swat River. According to officials, seven family members were on board when the boat overturned, throwing everyone into the water. Rescue teams recovered the bodies of six victims, while the search continued for a woman who remained missing.
