A Pakistan Air Force officer was shot dead after intervening to rescue a woman during an alleged abduction attempt on Islamabad's Ninth Avenue, according to police and initial reports. Group Captain Asim was passing through the area when he noticed a woman standing beside a motorcycle while a man appeared to be forcibly pulling her. Acting to assist, he stopped his vehicle, prompting the woman to run behind it in an apparent attempt to seek protection.
Details of the Incident
Police said the suspect, identified as Saad, allegedly exchanged heated words with the officer before opening fire on him. Group Captain Asim sustained critical injuries and later embraced martyrdom, while the suspect fled the scene.
