The federal government announced two-day public holidays across the country on June 25 and 26 (Thursday and Friday) to observe the 9th and 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram, 1448 A.H. (Ashura). According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the prime minister has approved the public holidays on the occasion of Ashura.
Scope of Holidays
The notification stated that the holidays will be observed in all public sector offices and educational institutions, including those operating on five-day and six-day working weeks. This ensures uniform observance across federal and provincial entities.
Implementation Directives
The Cabinet Division has forwarded copies of the notification to all ministries, divisions, provincial governments, and relevant administrative departments for wide implementation and publicity. The directive aims to facilitate the observance of Ashura across the country.
