Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani has described Syria's relationship with Qatar as a model of partnership founded on trust and mutual respect, emphasizing its role in fostering regional development and stability. The statement came after a meeting with Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Qatar's Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held in Damascus on Saturday.
Meeting Highlights Shared Vision
In a post on X, Al-Shaibani expressed his pleasure at welcoming Al-Khulaifi to Damascus, stating that the two countries view their ties as a partnership built on trust and mutual respect. He noted that this relationship will help expand opportunities for development and stability across the region and fulfill the aspirations of both brotherly peoples. The meeting took place at Tishreen Palace in Damascus, where the officials discussed ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors and strengthen bilateral relations.
Memorandum of Understanding Signed
Earlier on Saturday, Al-Shaibani and Al-Khulaifi signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in diplomatic studies and training. This agreement is expected to further institutionalize the partnership between the two nations, providing a framework for shared expertise and capacity building in the field of diplomacy.
