Lahore police have arrested a proclaimed offender who had been wanted in a murder case for the past 13 years. The arrest was made during an ongoing crackdown against absconding criminals, officials confirmed on Sunday.
Arrest Details
According to police, the operation was carried out on the instructions of DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza. Incharge Investigation police station Batapur, Muhammad Siddique Bhatti, along with his team, conducted an intelligence-based operation and apprehended the accused after receiving a tip-off.
The suspect had been wanted in connection with a 2013 murder case in which a citizen, Mohsin, was shot dead. The accused had been absconding since the incident and repeatedly evaded arrest despite multiple raids over the years.
Technology and Intelligence Used
Investigators revealed that the accused was traced and arrested with the help of modern technology and human intelligence. Officials stated that further legal proceedings are underway.
DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza said, "The crackdown against proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes will continue without interruption, and all fugitives will be brought to justice."
