Widow in Haripur Alleges Property Dealer Sold Her Shops Unlawfully
Haripur Widow Alleges Property Dealer Sold Her Shops

Syed Khanam, a widow from the Mang area of Haripur, has alleged that a property dealer purchased an approximately eight-marla plot from one of her daughters and subsequently sold her two shops, which were her only source of livelihood along with her son. Speaking at a press conference at Haripur Press Club alongside her daughters and sons-in-law, Shakeel Ahmed and Muhammad Imran, she appealed to police and relevant authorities to provide justice.

Background of the Property Dispute

Syed Khanam, widow of Bostan Khan, said she inherited two kanals and five marlas of land in Mouza Mang, jointly inherited by her son and three daughters. The family had divided the property privately. She said she entered into a six-year agreement with Muhammad Imran, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, under which he constructed eight shops on her land and was to recover his investment through rental income. The shops were built and rented out.

Alleged Sale and Impact

Three years later, one of her daughters sold her inherited share of approximately eight marlas to Kamran, son of Shafiq, a resident of Malkiyar, for Rs7.5 million. However, Syed Khanam claimed that the property dealer then sold her two shops, which were not part of the daughter's share. She said her daughter had already stated before the Mang police post that she had sold only her share of land and not the shops.

Syed Khanam emphasized that the shops were the only source of livelihood for her and her son, and the sale has left them without income. She urged the police and relevant authorities to intervene and ensure justice.
