Iran has once again acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan's positive role during the recent conflict in the region. The appreciation was expressed by Iranian Ambassador Dr Reza Amiri Moghadam during a meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi in Islamabad.
Governor Kundi Stresses Peaceful Resolution
During the meeting, Governor Kundi stressed the need to end tensions between Iran and the United States to ensure lasting peace in the region. He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to peace and its willingness to support efforts aimed at regional stability. The Governor also highlighted the vast potential for economic cooperation between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Iran, emphasizing the importance of increasing trade, investment and people-to-people contacts.
Trade and Delegation Exchanges
He called for greater exchanges and visits of trade and parliamentary delegations from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Iran to strengthen bilateral ties. Speaking on the occasion, the Iranian Ambassador said trade between Iran and Pakistan, particularly in oil and other commodities, is expected to increase in the future. He also termed Israel a major obstacle to peace in the region.
The meeting underscored the mutual desire to enhance cooperation and resolve conflicts through dialogue. Both sides expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations, with a focus on economic collaboration and regional peace.
