Lebanese state media reported on Monday that an Israeli drone strike on a car in southern Lebanon killed four people, including three women, despite a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA) said the victims included a school principal, her mother, a foreign female domestic worker, and a male Syrian worker. The strike occurred in Nabatieh Al-Fawqa, a village in southern Lebanon, as the group was returning from inspecting their family home.
According to NNA, an Israeli drone targeted the car they were traveling in, resulting in the deaths of all four occupants. The attack took place on July 6, 2026, amid ongoing tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border.
Ceasefire violations
The incident marks a significant violation of the ceasefire agreement brokered between Israel and Hezbollah, which had been in effect since late 2024. The fragile truce has been repeatedly tested by sporadic incidents, but this strike represents one of the deadliest breaches in recent months.
