Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi inaugurated an Anti-Corruption Desk at the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell to facilitate the reporting and registration of corruption-related complaints. Through this initiative, citizens can now directly lodge complaints pertaining to corruption and maladministration with the Chief Minister’s Office.
Helpline and Dedicated Desk
A dedicated helpline, 091-9222451, has been established for the registration of corruption-related complaints. Citizens can use this number to report evidence of administrative or financial irregularities. Additionally, a dedicated complaint desk has been set up for residents of Zamung Kor and government-run Panah Gahs, ensuring that vulnerable and underserved segments of society have access to an effective platform for registering and resolving their grievances.
Chief Minister’s Interaction
During his visit to the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Afridi directly interacted with citizens, listened to their complaints, and received feedback regarding the resolution of previously submitted complaints. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that he had made a commitment to the people that every genuine grievance would be addressed, and the government is now translating that commitment into practical action.
Commitment to Transparency
Afridi emphasized that every citizen who reports administrative or financial irregularities will find the Chief Minister standing firmly by their side. He urged the public to come forward and register complaints, assuring them that the government would ensure prompt and effective action on all credible reports. The Chief Minister further noted that the CM Complaint Cell is being strengthened and modernized, allowing citizens to submit complaints through multiple channels, including WhatsApp, email, Facebook, and X, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience.
Personal Oversight
Afridi reiterated his personal commitment to overseeing the complaint redressal mechanism and monitoring the resolution of public grievances. He added that the government would not allow citizens to lose confidence in public institutions and would not tolerate injustice in any form. Every complaint, he said, would be treated as a matter of personal responsibility and addressed with utmost seriousness.
Public Welfare Priority
The Chief Minister emphasized that public welfare remains the government’s foremost priority and guiding principle. Policies and decisions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added, will continue to be driven by the public interest, with the welfare of citizens and public trust serving as central considerations in governance. Later, he directed the Complaint Cell staff to maintain a courteous and citizen-centric approach in dealing with complainants and to ensure timely and effective resolution of all complaints.
