Pakistan Accuses India of Fuelling Regional Instability to Mask Domestic Issues
Pakistan Accuses India of Fuelling Regional Instability

A senior Pakistani security official on Friday accused India of attempting to divert attention from its domestic challenges by fuelling regional instability, particularly targeting Pakistan. The official alleged that ideological policies were undermining peace and stability in South Asia.

Official Briefing and Allegations

The remarks were made during an interaction with media influencers, where the official outlined Pakistan’s assessment of the regional security environment and India’s internal political and security dynamics. According to the official, the Indian leadership continues to ignore “ground realities” and is pursuing policies driven more by ideology than pragmatism.

The briefing alleged that the growing influence of Hindutva ideology has weakened India’s secular identity and contributed to rising religious intolerance and internal instability. The official further claimed that the concept of “Akhand Bharat” reflected India’s expansionist ambitions and alleged that the country’s military had increasingly come under the influence of the ruling party’s political agenda.

Challenging the 'Shining India' Narrative

The briefing also challenged the narrative of a “Shining India,” arguing that it failed to reflect deep social divisions. The official alleged increasing restrictions on freedom of expression and media, which, according to the official, point to a more authoritarian environment. Expressing concern over the condition of religious minorities, the official claimed that Muslims and other minority communities were facing growing discrimination and persecution, warning that such trends could further deepen social polarisation.

Referring to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the official alleged that the territory remained heavily militarised, with residents continuing to face severe restrictions under a large security presence.

Accusations of False Flag Narratives

The official also accused India of levelling allegations against Pakistan and promoting “false flag” narratives to divert international attention from its internal unrest and ongoing freedom movements. According to the briefing, India’s strategic objective is to undermine a stable, prosperous and moderate Pakistan, viewing the country’s progress as a challenge to its regional ambitions.

The official further alleged that the leadership of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee was acting in line with an Indian agenda. However, no evidence was presented publicly during the briefing to support the claim.

Pakistan's Resolve

Concluding the interaction, the official reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to safeguard its sovereignty and national security, stating that the country and its people would not be intimidated by India.
