RAWALPINDI: Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) on June 3 and 4 in the Panjgur District of Balochistan, resulting in the elimination of six Indian-sponsored terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, the military's media wing announced on Friday.
Details of the Operation
A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) revealed that the IBO was initiated based on intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan. During the operation, security forces effectively engaged multiple terrorist locations, leading to intense fire exchanges that culminated in the death of all six militants.
According to the ISPR, a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and vehicles were recovered from the terrorists, who had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the region.
Sanitisation Operations
The ISPR further stated that sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the area. The ongoing campaign, under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam—approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan—is being carried out by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan. The statement concluded that these efforts will continue at full pace to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
Leadership Commendation
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for the successful operation against Indian-backed Fitna-al-Hindustan terrorists in Panjgur. In separate statements, both leaders affirmed that operations under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam would persist until their logical conclusion.
President Zardari reiterated the nation's resolve to eliminate terrorism, asserting that Fitna-al-Hindustan and its facilitators would never succeed in undermining Pakistan's peace and stability. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for neutralising the terrorists, who, he said, were plotting to harm the lives and property of innocent Pakistani citizens. The prime minister also reiterated the government's commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country and ensuring lasting peace and security.
