KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, met with Federal Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Affairs, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, on Friday to discuss the current situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, national unity, and other matters of mutual interest.
Strong Condemnation of Human Rights Violations
According to an official communique, both leaders strongly condemned the continued human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and the ongoing atrocities committed against the innocent Kashmiri people. They agreed that cooperation between the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir and the Government of Sindh would be further strengthened to effectively highlight the IIOJK issue at both the national and international levels.
Renewed Commitment to Self-Determination
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continuing moral, diplomatic, and political support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination at every forum. During the meeting, Federal Minister Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon briefed the attendees on the initiatives undertaken by the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir to effectively highlight the IIOJK issue.
Unified Strategy for National Importance
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that close coordination and a unified strategy among all federal and provincial institutions were essential on issues of national importance such as IIOJK. He stated that the Kashmir issue is a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and reflects the unanimous national stance of the entire nation. He added that the Sindh Government would continue its efforts to highlight the IIOJK issue at all levels and expose Indian atrocities.
Cultural Exchange
At the conclusion of the meeting, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon presented Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon with a traditional Sindhi Lungi and Topi as symbols of Sindh’s rich cultural heritage.
