In a significant move to enhance public convenience and streamline administrative processes, the Rawalpindi Traffic Police has announced a major expansion of its driving test facilities. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam has spearheaded this initiative, aiming to reduce congestion and waiting times for citizens seeking driving licenses.
Doubling Test Tracks and Adding Vehicles
According to a traffic police spokesman, the number of driving test tracks at the Traffic Headquarters has been increased from one to two. This expansion directly addresses the growing public demand for efficient licensing services. In addition to the new tracks, additional vehicles have been introduced to the testing fleet. These measures are designed to save time and provide greater convenience to applicants, ensuring a smoother and faster process for all.
Enhanced Testing Options and Same-Day Services
Citizens can now take their driving tests in both automatic and manual vehicles, offering flexibility to suit individual preferences and needs. The spokesman emphasized that this improvement allows for a more tailored testing experience. Furthermore, the facility for issuing learner and permanent driving licenses to motorcyclists on the same day continues to be available, promoting quick access to legal documentation for two-wheeler users.
Ensuring Transparency Through Technology
To uphold merit and transparency in the licensing system, all processes are being video recorded. An automated video system has been introduced to further strengthen these efforts, minimizing human error and potential biases. This technological upgrade is part of broader initiatives to innovate and improve service delivery at the licensing branch, as highlighted by the spokesman.
The spokesman urged citizens to take advantage of these enhanced facilities and obtain their driving licenses without delay. With these changes, the Rawalpindi Traffic Police aims to foster a more efficient and transparent environment, ultimately benefiting the community through reduced congestion and improved access to essential services.
