MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has revised the schedule for the upcoming general elections to the legislative assembly, while reaffirming that polling will be held on July 27 as previously announced.
Revised Arrangements for Candidates
Under the revised arrangements, candidates from District Poonch (Rawalakot) will now submit their nomination papers directly to the concerned returning officers in Rawalakot, where scrutiny will also be conducted.
Reason for Changes
According to the election commission spokesperson, the changes have been made in view of public convenience and suggestions from candidates.
New Timetable
Under the new timetable, the final date for submission of nomination papers has been set for June 23, 2026, until 5pm, with an extension granted on request for filing nomination forms.
