Muharram Security Plan Enforced in Faisalabad Division

On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a comprehensive security plan for the holy month of Muharram is being effectively implemented across all four districts of Faisalabad Division. Commissioner Faisalabad Musarrat Jabeen, along with Regional Police Officer Sohail Akhtar Sukhera, briefed the media on the ongoing measures.

Monitoring and Coordination

Continuous monitoring of procession routes, Majalis venues, and sensitive points is being carried out. Administrative officers and police officials are conducting field visits to closely review security and other arrangements. Commissioner Jabeen stated that an alternative traffic management plan is being implemented, with officials from relevant departments deployed along procession routes. Cold water stalls and medical camps have been established to facilitate mourners.

Continuous coordination is being maintained with peace committees and procession organizers. Even minor complaints are being addressed promptly, the Commissioner added. She emphasized that foolproof security arrangements have been made for the remaining days of Muharram, covering all sensitive locations, while all possible measures are being taken to promote peace, religious harmony, and brotherhood.

Security Plan for Fifth Muharram

On the directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain, a security plan has been issued for the fifth day of Muharram. A total of 179 Majalis and 28 processions will be held across the district, for which foolproof security arrangements have been completed. According to police officials, the breakdown includes: 13 Majalis and 3 processions in Lyallpur Division, 45 Majalis and 12 processions in Iqbal Division, 30 Majalis and 6 processions in Madina Division, 53 Majalis and 5 processions in Jaranwala Division, and 38 Majalis and 2 processions in Saddar Division.

Deployment and Surveillance

CPO Tanveer Hussain said that more than 2,400 police officers and officials will perform security duties during Muharram. Surveillance of Majalis, processions, Imambargahs, and sensitive locations is being carried out through CCTV cameras. Entry at all points will only be allowed after complete checking and searching of individuals. The comprehensive plan aims to ensure the safety of participants and maintain public order throughout the month.
