The budget session of the National Assembly resumed on Tuesday at 11:04am, with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq presiding over the proceedings. The House continued its deliberations on the Finance Bill 2026-27, as members from both the treasury and opposition benches participated in discussions on the government's proposed budgetary measures and fiscal policies.
Speaker's Remarks on Debate Progress
Before the debate resumed, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq briefed the House on the time utilized by various parliamentary parties during the ongoing budget discussions. He expressed confidence that the Assembly would successfully complete the scheduled 40 hours of debate on the Finance Bill.
Speaking Time Allocation
Providing details of the allocated and consumed speaking time, the Speaker said that representatives from several political parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), had already contributed to the debate. Expressing satisfaction with the pace of the proceedings, Ayaz Sadiq reiterated his optimism that the National Assembly would meet its discussion target.
“We will successfully achieve the 40-hour target for the debate,” he said, adding that he expected the remaining time to be utilized effectively and the discussion to conclude as scheduled.
