Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hyderabad Shahzeb Chachar has taken strict action following a violent incident at his office premises. On Wednesday, he issued arrest orders against miscreants involved in a severe riot, violent protest, damage to government property, and harassment of government employees, especially women.
Incident Details
A group of transgender individuals entered the SSP Hyderabad office and staged a violent protest in support of demands related to the appointment of Female Junior Clerk Maria Sario of the police department. During the protest, the protesters reportedly took office staff, including women, hostage, harassed them severely, entered offices, and damaged government property.
SSP's Response
The SSP Hyderabad repeatedly offered to negotiate and resolve the matter amicably, including forming an impartial committee. However, the group rejected these offers and continued to pressure government officials for the rehabilitation of Maria Sario.
The SSP made it clear that no one is allowed to take the law into their own hands, obstruct government affairs, damage property, or harass employees. He directed that cases be registered against all involved and that indiscriminate action be taken.
Commitment to Rule of Law
The SSP emphasized that the security of officers and employees in government offices will be ensured at all costs. He stated that no individual or group will be allowed to influence government decisions through pressure or illegal means. The rule of law and protection of government institutions are top priorities.
The Sindh Police fully believes in protecting the constitutional and legal rights of transgender people, women, and all sections of society. However, no one can be allowed to take the law into their own hands, damage property, or harass employees.
