Bilawal Bhutto demands GB as fifth province of Pakistan

GHIZER - Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed an election rally in Gahkuch, Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday. He declared that he wanted to go to Islamabad to convey that before making any other province, Gilgit-Baltistan should be granted the status of the fifth province of Pakistan. The party aims to secure a constitution for GB so that the local population obtains the right to sovereignty and can fully exercise their right of ownership.

PPP's Commitment to GB

Bilawal reminded the audience that the PPP facilitated the appointment of Shahbaz Sharif as Prime Minister twice. He stated that a promise has been fulfilled through the PPP parliamentary party in GB. He emphasized that all arrangements are complete for the GB elections, with the Chief Election Commissioner vowing strict security.

Land Ownership and Housing Initiative

Bilawal pledged to fulfill his promise and hand over 28,000 square kilometers of land in GB to its people. He stressed that the PPP needs a decisive victory, as he wants a Jiyala as the Chief Minister of GB to ensure the people truly become the owners of this land. He appealed to the people of GB to turn out in large numbers on June 7 to vote for the party by stamping the party’s symbol of the arrow, ensuring a PPP government. He also promised to launch a housing scheme modeled after the Sindh Peoples Housing Initiative, starting from Ghizer.

Employment Opportunities and Merit-Based Jobs

Bilawal stated that the party’s third major pledge is the provision of employment. He noted that after the previous PPP government in GB, employment opportunities were taken away from the local people. He accused other political parties of snatching jobs from the people, citing that the PML-N terminated workers from various institutions and the PTI followed the same path. He maintained that once elected, the PPP’s mandate will be to provide merit-based employment to jobless youth of GB.

Integration of Artificial Intelligence

Bilawal shared that the PPP is integrating modern technology into governance by utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Balochistan to ensure merit-based employment for the youth. He explained that as soon as the AI-driven test is completed, candidates will immediately know their grade. He stated that if this pilot project proves successful, the party will introduce it in Sindh and also in GB.

Clear Ideology and Manifesto

Bilawal emphasized that the PPP stands as a party of a clear ideology and manifesto, whereas opposing parties possess none of them. He highlighted that the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) aligns with the PPP’s ideology. He appealed to the people to come out on Election Day and stamp the arrow, the PPP’s election symbol.
