Assistant Commissioner (AC) Vehari, in a high-level meeting held at his office, reviewed the comprehensive security and administrative arrangements for the upcoming month of Muharram-ul-Haram. The meeting was attended by representatives from the police, civil defense, rescue services, and local administration to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance of the religious event.
Security Measures and Route Planning
During the meeting, AC Vehari directed officials to finalize the routes for processions and ensure strict implementation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs). He emphasized the need for close coordination among all departments to prevent any untoward incident. The police presented a detailed security plan, including the deployment of personnel at sensitive points, installation of CCTV cameras, and establishment of quick response units.
Monitoring and Emergency Services
The assistant commissioner stressed the importance of continuous monitoring through control rooms and instructed rescue services to remain on high alert. He also reviewed the arrangements for majalis (religious gatherings), including sound system regulations and parking management. “All necessary measures must be taken to maintain law and order during Muharram,” AC Vehari stated, according to official sources.
Coordination with Religious Leaders
AC Vehari also called for meetings with religious scholars and community leaders to promote harmony and discourage any provocative speeches or activities. He directed the administration to ensure that all processions and gatherings adhere to the designated timings and routes. The district administration has been directed to issue necessary permissions and ensure compliance with the code of conduct issued by the government.
