DPO Attock Holds Open Court in Hazro, Addresses 100 Complaints

District Police Officer Attock Sardar Mawarhan Khan held a five-hour-long open court in Hazro, where he listened directly to citizens and issued immediate directions for action. The open forum was attended by DSP Hazro Arshad Khattak, PRO Police Inspector Muhammad Junaid, and all concerned SHOs of the sub-division. A large number of people from Hazro and adjoining areas gathered to present their problems related to travel agents, drug peddlers, family disputes, land mafia, and impersonation by fake media persons.

DPO Personally Receives 100 Written Complaints

DPO Sardar Mavarhan Khan personally received as many as 100 written complaints from citizens. After hearing each complainant, he issued on-the-spot directions to the relevant police officers for immediate verification and redressal. Speaking to the gathering, the DPO said that the purpose of open courts is to bridge the gap between police and the public and to provide justice at people’s doorsteps without delay or unnecessary hurdles.

Crackdown on Unauthorized Travel Agents

The DPO expressed serious concern over the growing number of complaints against unauthorized travel and visa agents who dupe people with fake documents and promises of overseas jobs. He said a comprehensive crackdown will soon be launched across the district against such elements. Terming them “vultures,” the DPO stated that these agents are depriving citizens of their hard-earned money by issuing fake travel documents. “Those sitting abroad who are facilitating these agents in preparing forged documents will also face the music,” he warned. He directed police to compile a list of all unregistered agents and take strict legal action against them.

Family Disputes and Violence Against Women

Addressing the issue of family disputes, the DPO urged citizens to first attempt reconciliation through family elders and notables of the area. He said that while police will intervene in cases involving violence, most domestic issues can be resolved through dialogue and community mediation. The DPO issued strict warnings against those involved in the torture of women and elderly parents. “Such acts will not be tolerated,” he said, and directed all SHOs to register cases immediately and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

Action Against Fake Media Personnel

Taking notice of complaints regarding individuals posing as journalists to exert pressure and extort money, the DPO gave special instructions to DSP Hazro Arshad Khattak to look into the matter of fake media personnel. He ordered prompt action against anyone found misusing the name of media organizations. “Genuine journalism serves the public, but those using it as a cover for blackmail will be dealt with severely,” he said.

Public Appreciation and Future Plans

Citizens present at the court appreciated the initiative, saying that direct access to the district police chief helped them present their problems without middlemen. Many said they received assurance and immediate instructions regarding their cases. Concluding the session, DPO Sardar Mavarhan Khan reiterated that open courts will continue across the district. He urged the public to cooperate with police and report any illegal activity, adding that protecting the rights of citizens and maintaining law and order remains the top priority of Attock Police.
