Larkana Deploys 3,457 Police for Muharram Majalis and Processions

Larkana Deputy Commissioner Tariq Manzoor Chandio announced that from the 1st to the 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram 1448, a total of 201 Majalis (religious gatherings) and 149 processions will be held across the district. To ensure security, the district police will deploy 3,457 police personnel, 200 Rangers personnel, and 270 additional auxiliary force members as requested by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Larkana.

Security and Medical Arrangements

In addition to law enforcement, 110 doctors and 272 paramedical staff will be stationed at 128 health camps and tents. The Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Larkana will provide 320 laborers with machinery, while 20 municipal teams and 500 scout members will perform duties at various locations. Three bomb disposal teams, two scanners installed by the Special Branch Larkana, and 75 CCTV cameras (with installation ongoing) will also be utilized. Lights have been provided on main routes leading to all Imambargahs and around the city.

Control Rooms and Surveillance

The DC stated that 5 control rooms have been established for monitoring within the district, and over 75 CCTV cameras have been installed. More than 40 ambulances from government and private trusts will be on standby. He emphasized that all relevant departments have been instructed to ensure 100 percent input during Muharram-ul-Haram so that the event is completed peacefully without any untoward incident.

Sanitation and Cleanliness

Within district Larkana, the Municipal Corporation, Town Chairmen, and UC Chairmen have made excellent arrangements for cleanliness and sanitation, along with improved lighting. Teams have been constituted to ensure mourners do not face any inconvenience concerning cleanliness and lighting.

The DC expressed these views with media persons at Larkano Press Club on Monday and congratulated the newly elected body of Larkano Press Club office bearers, including President Abdul Qadir Jagerani and Secretary General Tariq Mehmood Durani, presenting them with flower bouquets.
