To promote peace and order, religious harmony, and inter-sect unity in district Muzaffargarh during the sacred days of Muharram-ul-Haram, a delegation of the United Scholars and Spiritual Leaders Peace Council’s Safir-e-Aman Caravan participated in a special peace programme held at the shrine of Gul Hassan Shah in Khangarh yesterday. The event was organised on the invitation of Zakir-e-Ahl-e-Bait and former Chairman of the Municipal Committee Khangarh, Syed Tahir Abbas Shah Bukhari, along with licence holder Abu Zar Khan Baloch.
Among those attending the programme were Chairman of the United Scholars and Spiritual Leaders Peace Council Maulana Syed Abdul Mabood Azad, Pir Rab Nawaz Sial, Sardar Ajmal Khan Chandia, trader Javed Akhtar, Qari Abdul Basit Azad, Syed Ghazanfar Abbas Naqvi, Sheikh Naveed Mustafa, Sardar Mureed Hussain Laghari, Maulana Ashfaq Patafi, Hafiz Muhammad Hasnain Bhutta, Maulana Muhammad Ahmad Makki, Qari Qasim Sangi, Qari Ejaz Malik, Rana Muhammad Afzal, along with a large number of religious scholars, spiritual leaders, social figures, and citizens belonging to various schools of thought.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers stated that Muharram-ul-Haram teaches patience, tolerance, sacrifice, brotherhood, and steadfastness on the path of truth and righteousness. They said that the great sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala serve as a guiding light for all humanity. The speakers emphasised that, in the current circumstances, the Muslim Ummah is in dire need of unity and solidarity. They stressed that scholars and spiritual leaders from all schools of thought must play a more effective role in promoting peace, brotherhood, and mutual respect.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a peaceful atmosphere during Muharram in district Muzaffargarh, promoting sectarian harmony, and thwarting the malicious intentions of any elements seeking to disrupt peace. They pledged full cooperation with the district administration and security agencies in this regard. They also appealed to the public to demonstrate patience and restraint during Muharram, adhere to the code of conduct, and support law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace.
At the conclusion of the event, special prayers were offered for the security and stability of the country, the unity of the Muslim Ummah, and the peaceful observance of Muharram-ul-Haram. The hosts, Zakir-e-Ahl-e-Bait and former Chairman of the Municipal Committee Khangarh, Syed Tahir Abbas Shah Bukhari, and licence holder Abu Zar Khan Baloch, thanked all the guests and reiterated their commitment that Khangarh will always remain a symbol of peace, love, and brotherhood.
